The car park of Jeremy’s pub has been used for dogging in the past

According to the former Top Gear host, his pub car park was a favourite spot to get frisky.

At first Jeremy suspected they were fly-tippers getting up to no good in the dead of night.

But no there was another reason why vehicles would be parked up in a lane, in what he calls the “black labrador and warm pint countryside”.

Writing for The Times, he said: “We like to think this is mostly the preserve of suburban housewives in home country pampas places like Beaconsfield but in the not too distant past, the car park at my remote Cotswolds pub was a hot spot as well.

“It’s even happened, on a smaller scale, on my farm.”

He was driving back one evening from his local pub when he spotted a “suspicious-looking” car parked up by one of the woods.

Unsure of what was going on he pulled up quietly to the passenger window.

What he saw caught him by surprise.

Clarkson said that he saw a young man, around the age of 17, who was smoking a “doobie” with one hand and was “frantically” performing a sex act with the other.

Eventually, the young man realised he was being watched and wound down his window, saying: “Oh my God, you’re Jeremy Clarkson.”

Then he added: “I rather wish we had met in different circumstances.”

Which Jeremy thought was the best line he’d ever heard.

When he officially opened his pub, The Farmer’s Dog, in 2024, Clarkson quickly found nothing was smooth sailing with the boozer.

And it turned out, the pub had always been popular but for very different reasons.

He was left flabbergasted when he discovered his new establishment was a popular haunt for doggers.

They would strip off their clothes and host romps in the bushes – he even found a G-string in the undergrowth.

He admitted at the time: “It was a very famous dogging site.

“It was gentleman usually, who stopped off there once it had gone dark to do whatever it is gentlemen in woods do at night.

“So I was a bit surprised to find a G-string there, because it suggested it had become more inclusive.

“Alan the Builder, who features in the show, he’s very local to there he was very aware, although he is keen to point out he never visited himself.”
