Alas, alas! Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra’s wedding is almost here, and the actual festivities kick off on October 16! The duo is set to say “I do” in a Gatsby the Magnificent-themed extravaganza that promises to send shockwaves straight through Genoa City.

Behind the scenes, the creative team is beyond hyped. Show costume designer Mandi Line couldn’t hold back her excitement, teasing on her Instagram stories: “Don’t forget to tune in! Set your alarms… starts on Oct 16! I can’t wait. I’m so proud of myself and my team. Just wait for it! Your mind will be blown!”
However, as Jason Thompson previewed in his interview with TV Guide, this marriage will be far from a simple “happily ever after”.
“There are definitely twists and turns, no question. Things happen that change the trajectory of the story. The ripple effects are quite large – things that we could play for the next 10, 20 years, frankly,” Thompson shared.
Sally Becomes a Soap Bride for the First Time
Meanwhile, Courtney Hope—who has been gracing daytime TV for nine years (hitting a full decade come January)—is walking down the aisle as a soap bride for the very first time! She admitted she wanted to do Sally’s story justice by personalizing every single detail of the experience, right down to the specific shade of lipstick and nail polish her character wears.
As for what’s coming down the pipeline, Thompson teased: ”They’ve got a newborn very, very quickly after saying ‘I do,’ so there’s no time to be boring. And there’s something pretty serious that goes down with Jill, and it throws everything into the blender in that moment”.
Yikes! A high-fashion Gatsby wedding, a newborn right on the heels of the vows, and a major crisis involving Jill Abbott (Jess Walton)? Genoa City is about to be turned completely upside down!
