The Young and the Restless Friday, September 18 Recap: Matt in Tears – Sally’s Bridesmaid Shocker

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, September 18, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will let his emotions pour out after Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) blows up at him.

Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will also pick a new member of her wedding party, so let’s talk about what’s ahead in Genoa City.

At the Abbott mansion, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will remain on edge over Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) and the possibility that she might use Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) wedding to target the Abbotts.

Billy will refuse to let Sally have anything less than her perfect day and will argue that if Patty shows up, she’ll wish she hadn’t.

Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will agree with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) about being cautious without letting their Patty fears run wild.

Jack will also suggest a fun diversion in the form of a bachelor party for Billy, who’ll want to make sure it’s local and nothing too crazy.

As for Patty’s beloved Mr. Kitty, Diane will throw the stuffed animal in the trash.

At the GCAC, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will find Sally crying and worry something is wrong with the baby.

Sally will assure Chelsea that the baby is fine, but she’ll still feel overwhelmed and unable to stop the tears from flowing.

Chelsea will realize Sally is having a bit of a panic attack, so she’ll provide a pep talk about what a great mom Sally is going to be.

Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will be weirded out when she comes along and finds Sally with Chelsea.

After Chelsea offers to help with bachelorette party planning, she’ll take off.

Audra will rant about not needing Chelsea’s help and will push Sally to call her instead of some “rando” from her past the next time she’s upset.

There’ll also be some talk about Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) being unable to attend the wedding due to a family cruise that she can’t get out of.

That’ll leave Sally down a bridesmaid, so she’ll surprise Billy later by pitching Chelsea as a replacement.

At Society, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will try to be civil with Devon Winters (Bryton James) by asking about Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and the college Devon is starting.

Devon will have cold responses and continue to believe Cane is going to break Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) heart.

Other Y&R spoilers say Cane will leave a sweet voicemail for Lily, who’ll be off on what he presumes is some business trip in Chicago.

At Crimson Lights, Phyllis will take jabs about not getting invited to this little fun house gathering of Matt, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

Matt will hint about Nick and Sharon being better together before Phyllis drags him off to speak privately.

Nick will assume Phyllis is trying to get Matt to stay and will vent to Sharon about Matt commenting on their relationship.

At the park café, Phyllis will plead with Matt to stick around since she’ll worry Patty could end up killing him if he goes with her.

Matt will think this is better for Phyllis, but she’ll obviously disagree.

After Phyllis blasts Matt for throwing this away when they could’ve been incredible together, she’ll stomp off.

Matt will sit there in tears as he wonders why it’s so hard for him to quit Genoa City.

Phyllis will head to The Shadow Room, where Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will be working behind the bar.

Daniel will bicker with Phyllis briefly, but she’ll be adamant that he needs to make her a Bloody Mary.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis will plan to drink away her heartache following Matt’s bad news, so stick with the CBS soap.
