Young & Restless Exclusive: Joshua Morrow Says That Even Apart, Sharon Can Break Nick’s Heart ‘to an Extreme Level’

As painful as it’s been for Young & Restless’ Nick to watch Phyllis cozy up to Matt and 100-percent subscribe to his “I’ve changed!” schtick, one twist would be even more devastating to him. Were Sharon to forgive her rapist, “I think it would be even harder” for Nick to accept, portrayer Joshua Morrow tells Soaps.com.
“As difficult as it is for Nick to see Phyllis buying into this Matt [redemption],” he adds, “if Sharon did it to the extent that Phyllis is, that would spin Nick out.”
Whereas Phyllis can shrug off Matt’s crimes since she didn’t experience them, Sharon did; she knows firsthand just how evil and remorseless he’s been — and since as far back as their high-school days. So “now you’re talking about a completely different situation,” Morrow notes, “because of the fact that there was a rape involved.” (Not only did Matt rape Sharon, he also sexually assaulted Amy Wilson.)
“There were a lot of other horrible things involved that Phyllis isn’t dealing with,” he continues. “She’s just sort of listening to Matt [tell his side of the story] and feeling sorry for him. If Sharon somehow did that, I think it would really take things to an extreme level for Nick. I don’t trust the way Nick would handle that, frankly.”
If we were Matt, we’d be very, very afraid.
