Everton poke fun at Ipswich on TikTok with hilarious Jeremy Clarkson and Cars clips

Everton beat Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday – and the club’s social media team couldn’t resist poking a bit of fun at the Tractor Boys on TikTok.

The Toffees are up to fifth in the Premier League after winning 1-0 at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Thierno Barry got the game’s only goal, converting with his midriff after a volley by James Tarkowski.

It was far from a top performance from Everton, with Ipswich giving a good account of themselves. But solid defending prevented the visitors from nicking a result.

It capped off a good week for the Toffees, who had booked their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup by beating Wolves days prior to set up a tie with Newcastle United. Both wins came at home, which is a big positive.

Fans were delighted to see their side take all three points, and the club’s social media team also revelled in the victory.

Everton’s TikToks after beating Ipswich are hilarious

Everton’s social media team have garnered a bit of a reputation for being funny and creative on TikTok.

Back in March of this year, Everton poked fun at Alejandro Garnacho, who had a particularly tough time up against Jake O’Brien in the Toffees’ 3-0 win. Their caption for that video was ‘Not everything is nice at Hill Dickinson Stadium’.

After the 1-0 win over Ipswich yesterday, the admins spotted a golden opportunity to amuse fans, using their opponents’ ‘Tractor Boys’ nickname.

They posted a clip from the Disney movie Cars, which shows the pickup truck character Mater sneaking up on a sleeping Tractor. Mater sounds its horn and as this happens, audio is played over the top of a commentator saying Thierno Barry’s name. The tractor startles awake and falls backwards.

The caption for the upload is ‘Up the Tractor-tipping Toffees 🚜’

The club have also uploaded a second TikTok video, which uses a clip from the Amazon Prime show ‘Clarkson’s Farm’.

Jeremy Clarkson is driving a tractor which is pulling a cultivator, and accidentally hits a telegraph pole, causing big damage.

The clips have gone down very well with fans. Obviously Everton supporters have lapped them up, but there are even some Ipswich fans in the comments admitting that it’s good banter.

It will be important for Everton to ensure they win the reverse fixture against Ipswich, which interestingly takes place on the final day of this season.

Potentially, there will be a lot riding on that game so hopefully Everton will get a positive result. Failure to do so, though, and it will be fair game for the Ipswich admins to perhaps get their revenge on social media.
