Young & Restless Preview: Victor Gives ‘Silly’ a Surprisingly Perfect Wedding Present

Let’s see. Among the guests at the wedding of The Young and the Restless’ Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra are the guy who accidentally, fatally ran down the groom’s daughter, the woman with whom the bride’s ex cheated (as a bridesmaid, no less) and, of course, the best man, not only the groom’s brother but a past love interest of the bride’s.

But you know who won’t be in attendance — besides Billy’s estranged mother, Jill? Victor Newman, that’s who. And his absence makes sense, of course. He and Billy hate each other and have long hated each other, dating back to when the younger man married and remarried Victor’s daughter, Victoria.
Ironically, sitting out the ceremony — as if he would have been invited in the first place! — is the best possible gift Victor could offer the soon-to-be-weds. His attendance “would have been a hard no,” Jason Thompson told Entertainment Tonight with a laugh, adding, “I love Eric [Braeden], but Victor can stay home!”
As an added bonus, with Victor sitting this one out, Nikki won’t be there, which means Jack’s bestie won’t get his wife Diane’s nose out of joint!
Despite The Mustache being MIA, the ceremony is almost sure to be full of drama as well as emotion. In fact, the smart money is on Sally going into labor with her and Billy’s first child before the “I dos” are done.
