We had our suspicions as soon as we found out that General Hospital had hired Australian actor Wil Traval to play a mysterious new character named Jude. Everything just fit together too neatly. An Aussie with a “J” name showing up just as Josslyn takes over her dad’s company? Come on, he had to be a Jacks!
And then on Monday, the show all-but confirmed the connection! Jude was smooth as anything in hitting on Britt and picking her up for some casual fun — but he didn’t want to use names. So Britt suggested the most generic names she could think of: John and Jane! That didn’t go over well. In fact, Jude flat out nixed Jane!
Why? Well, as countless viewers pointed out, that’s the name of Jerry and Jax’s mom: Lady Jane! And if Jude’s related to her as well, then we don’t blame him one bit for shooting that idea down.
But if he is a Jacks, how does he fit into the family? Unless they’re going the plastic surgery route, Jude can’t be a recast Jax. Britt’s met him and she’d recognize him. Unless she’s really into roleplaying this as anonymous fun, then she doesn’t seem to have a clue about who this new guy is.
So that leaves, we feel, one of two options. The first one is something we considered before, that Jude is, in fact, Jerry’s until-now secret son. The ages might be a bit close, but if Olivia can be Dante’s mom, then Jerry could easily be Jude’s dad! And that could be bad news for Britt if he ends up taking after his villainous father.
The other option, though, would be that he’s a third Jacks sibling. Maybe he’s even a half-brother who was raised by his father. That could be why he’s more upset at using “Jane” than “John.” John Jacks wouldn’t have been his father, so no biggie there.
But that would open up a whole slew of other questions. Where has he been? Do the other Jacks brothers know about him? Is he a bad guy or another white knight?
Hopefully, we’ll find out soon enough. The good news is that while we wait, Britt gets to have a little fun on the side!
