Young & Restless’ Controversial Plot Twist for [Spoiler] Signals a Big Break-Up Ahead

Young & Restless just hit viewers over the head with the realization that a reformed baddie is headed for a spiral… and it’s not looking good for said person’s current relationship, which will almost certainly become a casualty.
We’ve been speculating for months that Young & Restless had a plan to bring two former lovers back together, and so far it’s all gone as expected. What’s more, the foreshadowing is loud and clear that we’re headed for a relationship shake-up. It might take time, but it feels inevitable.
If you haven’t already guessed, the reformed baddie in question is Adam, and the doomed relationship is “Chadam’s”. Young & Restless twisted itself into pretzels to place Sally’s former love at her wedding and to ensure that he’d end up alone with her just in time to deliver her baby. While it’s easy to write that off as a nod to “Ally” fans who felt robbed when Adam and Sally’s daughter, Ava, was stillborn, it’s clear there’s a lot more to the controversial plot twist than that.

Adam’s expression at the end of Tuesday’s episode told us exactly where this story is headed. He’s clearly hit a turning point where he can no longer ignore his unresolved feelings surrounding Sally and their late daughter.

Chelsea was the definition of understanding when emotions surfaced for Adam during Sally’s pregnancy, but something tells us it’s going to become a lot trickier between them if Adam’s spiral causes him to continuously be drawn toward Sally and her baby. Given that Young & Restless concocted an inarguable excuse for Billy to leave town as Jill fights for her life in London, and Connor’s been shipped out of town, the scene is set for exactly that to happen.

If you factor into all of this Ashley’s dire forecast for the “Silly” marriage and her ominous prediction about how badly Billy will handle any bumps in the road with Sally, it doesn’t even take a seasoned soap fan to figure out where it’s all heading. There is no bigger marital problem that Billy could possibly encounter than his nemesis, Adam, after all.

We know, we know, Sally and Billy just got married. Nonetheless, Young & Restless’ controversial plot twist with Adam delivering his ex-love’s baby, along with Ashley’s sixth sense about Billy’s future, is a clear tease that the soap may be moving on from “Chadam” and looking ahead to an “Ally” reunion down the road.
