The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Matt’s a Hostage – Nick’s Drastic Way to Contain Growing Threat?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has apparently taken matters into his own hands regarding Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and the fate he believes Matt deserves.
Matt may be stuck in captivity if Nick feels that was the best solution to keep his loved ones safe.
Y&R fans know Nick initially wanted to wipe Matt off the map following all the drama in Vegas.
Since Matt forced Nick, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and their loved ones to endure so much turmoil over the years, no one can blame Nick for wanting him gone.
Matt’s changed man act was never something that convinced Nick to lower his guard.
There was always the fear of the old Matt returning to wreak havoc.
That’s why Nick was on edge when Matt ambushed Sharon at her cottage and had a breakdown over his evil side creeping back in.
It was enough to make Nick go rogue and lie to Sharon about what he actually did with Matt.
Nick told both Sharon and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) that Matt had been safely put away at the psychiatric hospital.
Later, Nick repeated that same story to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), who pointed out Matt could check himself out of the facility just as easily as he could check himself in.
However, that won’t be an issue if Nick never drove Matt to a mental health clinic at all.
There are good reasons to think Nick made other arrangements for Matt based on the clues in the week of October 26 preview video.
The weekly promo video shows Sharon interrogating Nick about the real Matt story, but Nick isn’t eager to give her details and seemingly wants to give her plausible deniability.
Nick might eventually confirm to Sharon that he didn’t kill Matt, but he might also confess that a psych ward wasn’t good enough.
The risk of Matt checking himself out of the facility may have convinced Nick to make him a hostage elsewhere.
Victor has been known to imprison enemies like Jordan (Colleen Zenk), who was held captive in his private dungeon.
This may be a “like father, like son” situation if Nick has launched a Matt captivity crisis of his own.
Nick may have stashed Matt somewhere to ensure he’ll never hurt anyone else again.
Of course, there could be risks involved since Matt could completely revert to the worst version of himself while he’s held captive.
Matt could also escape at some point, so Nick may regret trying to handle this himself if he botches it once again.
Bad news always seems to follow Nick’s attempts to deal with Matt, so stay tuned to see if more trouble’s brewing.
