Chelsea accuses Adam of ruining all her progress with Sally and works to convince him to attend Billy and Sally’s wedding with her. Billy fails to exercise any control over the guest list as he discovers Jill also plans to attend. Audra bristles when she learns Sally has asked Chelsea to be a bridesmaid, then tries to open a friendly conversation with Cane, but he shuts her down. The Shadow Room – Audra Isn’t Happy When Sally Tells Her She’s Invited Chelsea to Be a Bridesmaid, but She Gets Over It
Sally and Audra meet for drinks, with Sally sticking to a virgin cocktail. Audra can tell something’s off about Sally’s behavior and badgers her until she admits that she has something to tell her.
Sally tells Audra she’s asked Chelsea to replace Chloe, who had to bow out, as her bridesmaid. Audra isn’t happy. Sally explains that she and Chelsea bonded, and Audra blames it on hormones. She can’t believe that one conversation at a vulnerable moment has brought on this shift in Sally’s attitude.
Sally says Chelsea has always taken responsibility for the strife between them, and she’s over it. She’s the happiest she’s ever been.
Audra senses that Sally is seeking her approval, though she doesn’t believe bringing Chelsea in is the right move. Sally insists she’s not looking for Audra’s approval; she’s just ready to get over her grudge. Audra says she will always root for her but she feels it’s her duty as Sally’s best friend to warn Sally that she’s making a huge mistake.
Audra argues that Chelsea is a con artist. Sally points out that they’ve learned from their mistakes, and she would like to think Chelsea can do the same. She asks Audra if she’s a little jealous, adding that she’d feel the same in Audra’s place. She promises that Audra is her best friend for life.
Audra admits that Sally touched a raw nerve, and her instinct is to hoard Sally all to herself. she apologizes for bringing Sally down before her wedding and says if including Chelsea is what she wants, that’s fine. Sally says Audra might wind up liking Chelsea if she gives her a chance. Audra doesn’t know about that.
Audra asks what Billy thinks of Chelsea and, presumably, of Adam attending the wedding. Sally says they’re working on that.
Audra argues that if Chelsea is as worthy as Sally believes her to be, she’ll keep Adam away from the wedding. Sally is confident that Chelsea can figure that out for herself, but she’s not willing to tell her point-blank to keep Adam away. Audra says Sally shouldn’t be afraid to ask for what she wants; it’s her wedding, after all!
Sally thinks it’s possible Chelsea and Adam could both come and it would be fine and everyone would get along. She asks Audra to stop pushing her and keep the doomsday scenarios to herself because it would be easy to send her into a panic.
Audra agrees to drop it but says that Sally is being more gracious than she could ever be. Sally says Audra may surprise herself one day. Audra promises never to get in the way of the wedding Sally wants.
