Young & Restless Wedding Crashers: Sally’s Family Is Headed For Genoa City

Heaven knows Young & Restless’ Sally has her hands full these days. As beau Billy pointed out — while turning their living room into a pizza parlor, it’s worth noting — she’s running a company, preparing to have a baby, planning a wedding and taking care of him, which is a pretty major task all on its own! But as the about-to-be bride/mom counts down to her big days, she’ll need to make room for at least a little bit more chaos in the form of two family members who are about to descend upon her!

No, the show hasn’t at long last cast Sally’s much-discussed parents. (How the writers of both Bold & Beautiful, where Sally was first introduced, and Young & Restless, have avoided the temptation to cast her circus-folks characters is behind us, but here’s who we think should be playing her dad!)

So who’s going to show up on her doorstep? Grandma Shirley Spectra, as played by Patrika Darbo since 2017, and Sally’s little sis, Coco, who is now being played by newcomer Ashley Campbell.

For those unfamiliar with Sally’s pre-Young & Restless history, the character was introduced as the namesake and great-niece of legendary Bold & Beautiful character Sally Spectra (played by the late, great Darlene Conley). Upon arriving in Los Angeles determined to follow in the OG’s footsteps, Sally was accompanied by Shirley and Coco (then Courtney Grosbeck), who ditched the family business and became an intern at Forrester Creations, where she got involved with R.J. (at the time played by Anthony Turpel).

This is not Darbo’s first time appearing on Young & Restless, as her alter ego, Shirley, checked in via video call back in 2021.

Sally’s kinfolk will appear sometime in October, although there’s no word as of yet as to their exact first airdate. Nor is there any word as to how long they’ll be sticking around.
