Playing with fire will eventually get you burned! Victoria and Kyle have become increasingly careless when it comes to hiding their secret affair, and Young & Restless is now teasing the moment of truth.
Irresistably drawn together, Victoria and Kyle snuck around together in plain sight at Billy and Sally’s wedding and reception… even going so far as to slow dance. While they tried to carefully conceal their smouldering looks, absolutely anyone could have seen Kyle whip out that room key and slyly hand it to Victor’s daughter.
Alas, no one, even Audra, who was suspicious about them talking, ended up any the wiser. Likewise, they’ve survived Victoria’s slip-ups, which involved both a text containing information that could have given them away had anyone else read it, and also her forgetting an important Zoom meeting with “Japan” because she was too caught up in her feelings at the love nest.
Yes, we said “feelings,” and we meant it. Young & Restless has made it clear to viewers that Victoria and Kyle ar falling in love despite their best efforts to keep their hook-ups of the no-strings-attached variety. Consider the evidence: Victoria went directly to the pied a terre looking for Kyle’s comfort when she was upset about Nick, she’s caught herself sniffing his shirt, they’re skipping work to spend time together and walking around like the proverbial cats who ate canaries. What’s more, the soap keeps playing a song about falling in love in the background, which is a dead giveaway in and of itself.
Which means that it’s not going to be easy for Victoria and Kyle to extricate themselves when they’re finally exposed… and given that Young & Restless very obviously laid the groundwork in Thursday’s episode for their secret to be revealed, they’re going to be blindsided and left scrambling to do damage control.
How was the reveal ball set in motion? When the writers not-so-randomly had Victor ask Victoria to board the jet to take a meeting in London. Immediately. Victoria agreed a little too heartily and tore outside to text Kyle, inviting him to a rendezvous in The Big Smoke. Given that Cane, Lauren, and Vikki’s ex-husband, Billy, are all headed there due to Jill’s health crisis, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see where this is headed.
It’s clear that Young & Restless has set the scene for somoene to spot Victoria and Kyle together in London. Will they confront them or keep the information to themselves until they return to Genoa City? That remains to be seen, but the tease is in, and the cat may soon be out of the bag.
