Right now, cosmetics heir Billy (Jason Thompson) should be on Cloud Nine. He’s just gotten married to Sally (Courtney Hope), and the two welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Ruby Spectra-Abbott, on The Young and the Restless. However, there was a twist with their new addition: Billy’s nemesis (also Sally’s ex and father of her deceased infant daughter Ava), Adam (Mark Grossman), was the one to deliver the bundle of joy! Needless to say, Bill’s got complicated feelings about how the birth went down.
Thompson told Soap Opera Digest that he imagines that Adam’s involvement in bringing Ruby into the world will linger in Billy’s mind. To have the Newman heir deliver his daughter (after running over and killing his eldest daughter, the late Delia) is tough. Thompson said:
He doesn’t want Adam to have any connection with his daughter whatsoever, but he was the first person to hold her. That will just keep replaying in Billy’s head over and over. That will always be there for Billy, whether Adam plays that card or not. He really felt like he was starting a new life with Sally and this baby and they were going to leave everything else out of it. But this changes every beautiful idea he had.
Making things worse? The fact that Adam and Sally shared that special moment together. Thompson teased more drama to come, saying:
Adam does everything he can to stay in the picture — and obviously, that is the exact opposite of the situation Billy wanted to find himself in. Billy just wants Adam to go away, but he continues to show up and it really starts to affect Billy.
