Piers Morgan ‘irritated’ by Jeremy Clarkson comparisons

Piers Morgan has revealed he is ‘irritated’ by frequent comparisons to Jeremy Clarkson, with whom he’s shared a controversial relationship over the years.

Although the broadcaster and TV star were recently reconciled the latest statement from Mr Morgan recalls their clashes of years gone by, making a light-hearted jab.

Jeremy Clarkson lives in Oxfordshire, owning both Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington and The Farmer’s Dog pub in Asthall.

He is known for starring on BBC’s Top Gear as well as both The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm on Prime Video.

He’s shared a storied relationship with Mr Morgan over the years, which reached its peak in 2004 when the 65-year-old TV star farmer punched the former Daily Mail editor at the British Press Awards.

But last December, fans were surprised to see them reconciled, as Mr Morgan shared a picture with Mr Clarkson alongside a joking caption: “Great to catch up with my fans at Christmas.”

Perhaps the history between the two has lead fans to become confused between the TV personalities, as Mr Morgan shares how frequently he’s mistaken for the Clarkson’s Farm star.

In a post on X, he said: “Three people have mistaken me for Jeremy Clarkson this week, which is obviously very irritating, and nonsensical given I am so much better looking.”

It’s not the first time Mr Morgan has been compared to other well-known faces, with a long-running joke that he looks like the ‘pigeon lady’ from Home Alone 2, and other fans commenting he looks like Ed Balls.

Mr Morgan added: “Someone also asked me if I was Trevor Phillips – which was just a tad… surprising.”
