The Young and the Restless 3 Storylines That Need to End ASAP – These Characters Need to Shift Gears

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that a writing transition is underway at the CBS soap, so that’ll ultimately bring some changes on-screen.

Of course, many fans are hoping for things like more or less airtime for certain characters and brand-new story directions.

We can think of at least three storylines that need to end ASAP, so let’s discuss them.

It’s time for these characters to shift gears so that the show can focus on something different and more exciting.

1) Nick’s nonstop rage and addiction drama

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has been stuck in angry mode for what feels like forever, so many viewers are hoping Y&R will finally put an end to that soon.

Wouldn’t it be a relief to just have regular Nick back after all these months of pills and rage?

Nick’s addiction brought some gripping drama for a while, but it seems like most fans are over it at this point.

Let’s hope that Nick’s story can head down another path and give Joshua Morrow something else to play.

2) Matt’s pathetic pity party

Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) storyline has also been drawing criticism on social media, especially now that the show is trying to turn his victim into his therapist!

Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) deserves better than having to listen to Matt whine about his problems after everything she’s endured because of him.

This Matt pity party has gotten way too much focus on recent months.

The show needs to pick a lane when it comes to Matt’s redemption and free Sharon as well as Nick from this nightmare.

3) Phyllis and Victor’s next feud

Now that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is scooping up properties and vowing to crush Newman Enterprises using Arabesque, bad news could be brewing.

Y&R may be setting up another round of feuding between Phyllis and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), but that’s the last thing we need!

Victor and Phyllis finally achieved some peace after all that Newman takeover mayhem, so it’d be nice if the show could just let that stand for a while.

Let’s hope that Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) can stop Phyllis before she launches more conflict and leads this story down a repetitive road with Victor.
